Our Core Values

Garnet Valley Preschool Lessons (3-5 years):


Garnet Valley Pike: Introduction to basic skills; kicking, blowing bubbles, paddling, putting face in the water, swimming with an instructional flotation device.  Min. 3, Max. 4 per class.


Garnet Valley Eel: Children must swim 15 feet independently on front and back to enter this class.  Students will work on stroke development on front, back, and side.  Deep water skills are practiced.  Min. 3, Max 4 per class.


Garnet Valley Ray & Starfish: Children must swim approximately 30 feet independently and be comfortable in the deep water.  Students continue stroke development, and endurance is improved while swimming on the front, back, and side.  Min. 3, Max. 5 per class.
 

Garnet Valley Youth Lessons (6-12 years):


Garnet Valley Polliwog: This class is for beginners.  Students will focus on safety and basic swimming skills.  Min. 3, Max. 4 per class.


Garnet Valley Guppy: Students must be able to swim 1/2 lap on their front, back, and side without flotation to enroll.  This class will emphasize front crawl, back crawl, and sidestroke.  Stroke development, with rudimentary rhythmic breathing, will be addressed.  Students should feel comfortable in deep water.  Min. 3, Max. 4 per class.


Garnet Valley Minnow: Students must be able to swim an entire length of th epool on their front, back, and side using an alternating stroke with rhythmic breathing.  Students will refine their strokes and build endurance.  Breaststroke and elementary backstroke will also be taught.  Min. 3, Max. 5 per class.


Garnet Valley Fish & Flying Fish: Students must be able to swim 50 meters each of front, back, and side crawl in good form to take this class.  Students will refine their breaststroke, and butterfly will be introduced.  Endurance and stroke refinement are stressed.  Min. 3, Max. 6 per class.
