Pool Parties
Do your children enjoy swimming? Do you want to have a party a little different than everyone else? Consider having your Party here at the YMCA pool! There are several types of pool parties available. Call the front desk at 215-735-5800 questions and information. Ages 7 and up.

Water Areobics
Our exciting 30/30 water areobics exercise will have you moving from head to toe and enjoying every second of our intense workouts. Instructor will teach from the water and from the pool desk at times throughout the class.
Water Walking and Jogging
Various patterns of walking and jogging in water provide a full body toning and resistance exercise program in a low impact environment.
Swim Lessons
Shrimp and Perch (30 minute classes). This water enrichment program provides a positive environment for children ages 6 months to 4 years WITH a parent or guardian in the water. Parents are guided through basic swimming skills by trained instructors. Children must have head control and must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Children must wear swimmer diapers, no disposable diapers.
Pike (3–5 Years) This is your child's first swim class without a parent or guardian. This class will focus on water adjustment, kicking, blowing bubbles, and paddling with assistance. Children will swim with and without flotation.
Eel (3-5 Years)Children entering an Eel class should be comfortable paddling on their front, back and side 1 width of the pool with or without flotation. Stroke development, independent swimming and personal safety are emphasized.
Ray (3-5 Years)Children entering a Ray class should have the ability to swim 1/2 a length of the pool independently on both front and back. Children should be comfortable in the deep end of the pool. Continued stroke development and endurance are emphasized.
Starfish (3-5 Years)Children entering a Starfish class should have the ability to swim 1 lenght of the pool without assistance as well as tread water for 15 seconds. Introduction to rhythmic breathing and symmetrical paddle. This class will focus on stroke refinement and endurance.
Polliwog (6-12 Years) Beginner I swim class for those 6 to 12 years old. Children will learn to float on the front and back unsupported, beginner crawl stroke approximately 5 to 10 yards, and to kick on their back.
Guppy (6-12 Years) Advanced beginner swim class for those 6 years old and up, must pass polliwog level. Children will be introduced to rotary breathing with the crawl stroke, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Develop deep water confidence and able to swim 10 to 15 yards.
Minnow (6-12 Years) Intermediate swim class for those 6 years old and up, must pass guppy level. Children will be introduced to rotary breathing with the crawl stroke, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Develop deep water confidence and able to swim 10 to 15 yards.
Christian Street Crocs Swim Team (5-15 Years) Pre competitive swim class for those 5 years old and up, must pass Minnow level. Children will strengthen all strokes and diving. They will learn competitive starts and turns. Swim team starts October 27, 2008.
Practices are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5-6 pm. Older or more advanced students swim Mondays from 6-7:30 instead of 5-6 pm.

Adult Instruction
This is a beginner class for teens and adults who want a water acclimation class. No previous experience is needed. Fee: Full Privileged Member $45
